Francesco Calzona nearing move as Napoli manager | OneFootball

Slovakia boss Francesco Calzona is now nearing a move to Napoli, as the Italian looks to replace manager Walter Mazzarri.

Mazzarri’s tenure at Napoli is at risk and he now seems likely to get sacked as manager after the recent 1-1 draw against Genoa, as Napoli fell to ninth in the Serie A table and are now further away from the top four.

Calzano, as per Sky Italia, is now nearing a move to Napoli till the end of the season. Aurelio de Laurentiis is acting on his own part in appointing Calzano and isn’t using intermediaries and the expectation is that the green light will arrive later in the afternoon.

If everything goes to plan, Calzona could be taking his first training session tomorrow before the game against Barcelona. The expectation is that Mazzarri will undergo his last training session today and contacts are now intense between the two parties to close a deal for Calzona.
