Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi is still a defensive option for Inter but they are less excited about Tottenham Hotspur’s Japhet Tanganga, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Nerazzurri are still in the market for a new defender and they have a few different cheaper options available.

One of those is Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi who is known to want to leave the Biancocelesti this summer as he is seeking a new challenge.

He would represent a very short-term move as he is now 34 years old but he would bring a lot of Serie A experience to the team.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga has been proposed to the club but they are not so excited about his profile.

Whatever happens, Simone Inzaghi knows that it will be a fairly late operation to get some more depth.
