France midfielder Amandine Henry will miss the Women’s World Cup because through a calf injury, the team confirmed Friday afternoon.
The Angel City FC star is yet another player to suffer an injury that will keep them out of the tournament this July.
According to the French Football Federation, Henry underwent tests this week that revealed a muscle lesion in her left calf.
The 33-year-old will be a huge miss for Hervé Renard’s side, who have big aspirations in the competition.
Defender Aïssatou Tounkara has been called in to join the 23-women France squad as a replacement.
