beIN Sports report that there are members of the France staff that believe that the flu that Adrien Rabiot and Dayot Upamecano are suffering from, which prevents them from starting for Les Bleus in Wednesday night’s match with Morocco, was contracted from England’s players during the match on Saturday night, but have no way of confirming this.
Adrien Rabiot has been left at France’s base camp and will not be at the Al Bayt stadium so as to recover as best as possible and will therefore play no part against Morocco. Dayot Upamecano is slightly better and therefore sits on the bench tonight.
We do not know whether or not the players in question have contracted COVID-19 or not as there is no obligation to test players during this tournament. If the French medical staff has tested the players, this has not filtered through to the media.
