Kylian Mbappe, at this point, has virtually signed for Real Madrid. Having announced his departure from PSG officially last night, he will bid farewell to the Parc des Princes tomorrow night after the team’s clash against Toulouse.

With PSG out of contention in the UEFA Champions League, an announcement of the player’s move to Real Madrid is imminent. In fact, it will almost certainly arrive before the beginning of the Euros in Germany.

Macros speaks on Mbappe

In a recent social media post via his official X account, Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, addressed the topic of Kylian Mbappe’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain and his participation in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

To begin with, the diplomat refused to make any specific comments or provide any reaction to the player’s decision to leave PSG, as he said, “I don’t have any particular comment.”

The President then insisted that he hoped Los Blancos would make an exception to permit the superstar to represent his nation in the quadrennial event.

“I count on Real Madrid releasing Kylian for the Olympic Games so that he can come and play with the French national team,” he said.

Not for the first time

It is not the first time Macron has commented on Mbappe’s availability for the Paris Olympics, and it is clear at this point that the President deeply desires to see the to-be Real Madrid star play the event.

After all, he said only earlier this week that he would ‘pressurise’ Mbappe’s future club to allow the player to participate.

“I hope he will participate. Anyway I put the most pressure on his future team but it is always the same, let’s see one match after another. First, we have the European Championship, and therefore on July 14 they must win.”

Real Madrid, however, remain firm in their stance of not allowing players to participate in the Olympics, especially given that it starts almost immediately after the European Championships.

Playing two back-to-back events after a hectic season, after all, could jeopardise the Frenchman’s start to life at his new club.
