Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been invited to meet with the France players ahead of their EURO 2024 Round of 16 tie with Belgium, despite his four-year ban for failing a doping test.
The player has appealed the decision to give him a four-year ban for failing a doping test in August, taking it to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
If that appeal fails, then Juve will likely try to terminate his contract for just cause, or agree a termination by mutual consent.
Pogba will be not only in the stands as a guest of the French Federation on Monday for the game with Belgium in Dusseldorf, but also invited to meet with the squad beforehand to encourage the players.
Former Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi will also be given that opportunity, as Didier Deschamps hopes that having two winners of the 2018 World Cup will inspire the current group.
Pogba has not announced his retirement, denying reports this week he had told people that he ‘no longer exists’ because that was a joke in an old interview.
