France Football love nothing more than a listicle and their latest one might just be the most decisive yet.
The guys behind the Ballon d’Or have ranked the 50 greatest managers of all-time and there are a few surprises in there.
Top of the list is Rinus Michels – the legendary Dutch former coach Ajax and Barcelona who was credited with inventing the famous “total football” philosophy in the mid-1960s.
In second place is Sir Alex Ferguson, who won 38 trophies during his time in charge of Manchester United, including 13 Premier League titles.
Third on the list is Italian legend Arrigo Sacchi, whose AC Milan side of the late 80s and early 90s is widely regarded as one the greatest club teams of all-time.
And completing the top five is Johan Cruyff followed by his protégé, Pep Guardiola.
