Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram feels that all matches in the Champions League are tough.

The Frenchman spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, after the Nerazzurri drew 0-0 with Real Sociedad in their final group stage match of the season.

Inter were not able to secure top spot in their Champions League group.

The Nerazzurri had already booked their place in the knockout rounds with a couple matches to spare. But this evening, they needed a win if they were to finish top spot.

In the end, Real Sociedad were able to hold out for a point. That means that the La Liga side will finish top of the group rather than Inter.

Inter did even have some good chances to score. But in the end they were not able to finish any of them.

Some disappointment is only natural.

Inter will now almost certainly face a tougher draw in the next round.

Marcus Thuram Reacts To Inter Champions League Draw Vs Real Sociedad

After the match, Thuram said that “We knew that it was like a final for the group.”

“We wanted to win,” the Frenchman continued.

“But we’re happy to be in the round of sixteen,” he noted.

Thuram then went on to say that “We played a good match against a great team.”

“In the Champions League, all the matches are tough,” he said.

And Thuram wasn’t speculating on which team Inter would like to meet in the round of sixteen.

The likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Manchester City are possible opponents for the Nerazzurri in the next round.

“All the the opponents we could face are tricky,” Thuram said.

The Frenchman noted that “We’ll know who we face next soon enough.”

The draw for the round of sixteen takes place next Monday.

Thuram closed by emphasizing that “Now we’re focusing on the league.”
