Inter got one of the most important wins of their entire season at the San Siro this evening.

The Nerazzurri defeated title rivals Juventus by a narrow 1-0 scoreline.

It was not an easy match by any stretch of the imagination. Inter had to fight for every ball, and at times dig in and suffer.

But a goal during the first half was enough to see the Nerazzurri take the three points.

This means that Inter are now four points clear of Juventus at the top of the Serie A table. And with the additional benefit of a game in hand on the Bianconeri, that begins to feel like a substantial advantage.

Marcus Thuram: Three Big Points Vs Juventus, Winner Belongs To The Whole Team

After the match, Thuram beamed, “It was a very important match. We’re really happy to have won it.”

Thuram did not score Inter’s winning goal. But he certainly had a hand in it.

The Frenchman put pressure on Juventus defender Gatti as the latter bundled the ball into his own net.

He said of the goal that “It’s not mine, it belongs to the whole team.”

“It helped us get the three points, and I’m very happy,” Thuram went on.

“Now there are still a lot of tough matches left to play. But tonight we took three points against a tough opponent, and we’re happy.”

“All the teams in Serie A are strong,” the Frenchman continued. “But we have to continue to do our best.”

“We suffer together, we’re a great group.”

“Now I’m going to go to dinner with my father, who’s waiting for me,” Thuram added. The Frenchman’s father is legendary former Juventus, Barcelona, and Parma defender Lilian Thuram.

And as far as whether he expects some flak from his dad for picking up a yellow card, Thuram joked that “He gives it to me every match anyway.”
