Striker Mathys Tel led the French U19 side as captain but could not prevent a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Portugal. It went better for the German U18 team, who beat Czech Republic 4-0 with Paul Wanner coming on after 60 minutes and Arijon Ibrahimović from Bayern U19 netting the fourth goal.
