Speaking to L’Équipe in a press conference ahead of France’s quarter final clash with England on Saturday evening, France assistant coach said that France’s main man Kylian Mbappé has the taste for chasing more record with Les Bleus, after breaking several against Poland at the weekend.

Stéphan said that it is “huge to reach this level” comparing the player to Thierry Henry who had a similar amount of caps his scoring record – yet he highlights that “he is a much younger player who already has 33 goals behind him, and has 9 at the World Cup alone”. He then compares Mbappé to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, saying that “his stats are superior to Messi and Ronaldo at the same age” finishing off with “he’s an extraordinary, creative, and inventive player.”
