Five points from FPL Gameweek 1

New signings

Haaland rewarded his early backers with a Gameweek 1 haul of 13 FPL points.

He made the starting lineup and played 77 minutes, scoring two goals – including a penalty which he won himself. His second came courtesy of a Kevin De Bruyne (£12.0m) assist – a combo which we suspect will become commonplace over the course of this season.

Fellow summer signing Darwin Nunez (£9.0m) did not making the starting 11 for Liverpool on Saturday. But that did not stop him racking up the points.

In a 39 minute cameo, the Uruguayan managed a goal and an assist, earning nine FPL points – an impressive return for the time he was on the pitch.

We’ll have more analysis of the Premier League new boys and how they got on soon.

Mitrovic can do it in the Premier League…at least he could this week

Ok, we only have one gameweek of data.

But Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.5m) has shown us that he can handle the demands of the Premier League.

In scoring two goals against Liverpool on Saturday, the Serbian striker is already two-thirds of the way to matching his goal tally from the 2020/21 season.

That’s the season which planted seeds of doubt in the minds of many an FPL manager in pre-season.

There’s a long way to go but the early signs are positive.

Which FPL players have risen in price? Which FPL players have dropped in price?

FPL player prices can change throughout the season. Find out more about this here.

And as could be expected, changes have already begun.

Haaland, Mitrovic and Oleksandr Zinchenko (£5.0m) – who scored 12 points – have all received a price rise.

On the opposite end of the scale, meanwhile, Harry Kane has dropped £0.1m to £11.4m.

This could create issues for managers who were planning to swap the England international to Haaland for Gameweek 2.

Many will have already made the switch – but others will be left short of funds to make a straight transfer.

Off to a fast start – the FPL Gameweek 1 leader

Real Social Dad, managed by Andrew Rogers, scored a bumper 119 points for the best score of Gameweek 1, ahead of more than 8.4million managers.

Andrew played an early Triple Captain chip and was rewarded with 39 points from Erling Haaland.

Haaland formed an enviable front three alongside Mitrovic and Nunez, while Zinchenko was also part of Andrew’s team.
