Four South American countries have confirmed their candidacy for the 2030 World Cup.
Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay have put their bid forward to host the tournament in seven years’ time.
At an official press conference today in Buenos Aires, the Football Associations of the four nations revealed they will make a joint bid to host the world’s biggest sporting event.
Uruguay hosted the first ever World Cup in 1930 and see the centenary of that tournament as a major factor in why they can win the rights this time around.
Although there have been no other official bids put forward yet it is rumoured that Saudi Arabia could compete with the South American nations for the chance to host the second ever Arab World Cup.
The 2026 edition will take place in North America and Mexico.
