Four Regional League teams win despite red cards

Bournemouth Sports Reserves, Oughtibridge, Sheffield FC and Stockwood Wanderers all won after being reduced to ten by red cards, Crusaders’ Danielle Selmes scored ten goals.

EASTERN – Royston win storm-interrupted top-two clash

Premier – Royston Town won the top-of-the-table clash at St Albans City for a fourth straight victory, Haringey Borough ran out 4-0 winners at Cambridge City helped by Erin Radburn’s hat-trick. Bowers & Pitsea defeated Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers 3-2 away, Watford Ladies were held 2-2 by Stevenage after Gemma Croucher’s 90th-minute equaliser, Enfield Town beat Needham Market watched by 110, Luton Town were leading Wroxham 1-0 when the match was abandoned on 47 minutes following a storm.

1 North – Harpenden Town recorded a third win in a row 3-2 at Biggleswade United, AFC Dunstable’s Mollie Knox hit three of their six at Thetford Town, Newmarket Town also got half-a-dozen against Kings Lynn Town. Mulbarton Wanderers got the only goal at Whittlesey Athletic, Histon overcame Wootton Blue Cross 5-2, while Stevenage Devs’ match with Real Bedford Res was abandoned.

1 South – Hertford Town beat leaders Colney Heath 3-2 to move level on points with a game in hand over them, Southend United are also on nine points after Reyes Humbles scored twice in a 4-2 defeat of Hutton. There were no goals between  Lawford and Romford Town Flyers, Chelmsford City saw off Stanway Pegasus 4-1 and Frontiers put a dozen past Cheshunt, while Toby FC’s fixture with Wormley was  abandoned after 38 minutes with Rovers 3-0 up.

EAST MIDLANDS – Ten-player Sheffield FC see off Stags

Premier – Chesterfield Ladies lead as one of three teams with back-to-back wins, the second coming 4-1 at Rotherham United. SJR Worksop were 6-1 winners at Nottingham Trent University, Sheffield FC beat Mansfield Town 2-1 with a Sadie Smith decider despite Leah Kellogg’s 70th-minute red card. Anstey Nomads’s 5-3 victory over Basford United featured an Analeice Wilkes treble, Stamford beat Ilkeston Town 6-2 as Emma Pollard also scored three times.

On Wednesday 11 September, its Basford v Ilkeston Town (Mill Street Recreation Ground), Rotherham v Sheffield FC (Roundwood Sports), Stamford v Anstey (Borderville Sports Centre), while Thursday sees SJR Worksop v Chesterfield Ladies at Rainworth MW.

1 Central –  Asfordby Amateurs beat Brookside Athletic as Sarah Brown scored three of their four goals, River City’s Jadie Stones got two of their three at Sleaford Town. There were 2-2 ties for Beaumont Park at West Bridgford and Loughborough Foxes Vixens away to Long Eaton United.

1 North –  Arnold Eagles edged Buxton with Kitty Ward’s effort in the 89th minute, Chesterfield FC won 4-1 at Notts County Devs, Sherwood beat Belper Town 3-1 with Katie Fish on target twice. Grimsby Borough shared six goals with Gainsborough Trinity, Grimsby Town’s Bethany Wharton netted five minutes either side of the interval in a 2-2 draw with Dronfield Town.

1 South – Dunton & Broughton United’s Eve Aston found the net three times in a 5-2 result at Bugbrooke St.Michael, New Bradwell St Peter substitute Charlotte Jones equalised late on for a 1-1 draw at Newport Pagnell Town, as did Northampton Town Devs’ Mia Richards for a 2-2 tie with Long Buckby. Elsewhere it finished Leicester City LFC 3-0 Thrapston Town, Wellingborough Town 5-0 Cardea.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Herne Bay win after second-half fightback

Premier – Fulham’s netted a 9-1 win against Ashford United to maintain their 100% record, Dorking and Barking stayed level on points with the Cottagers from a game more as Wanderers’ Sarah Sparrow got the sole goal at Sport London E Benfica and Laura Bunton claimed a treble as the Essex side defeated Sutton United 4-2. Dartford also scored four against Millwall Lionesses, while Saltdean United v Ebbsfleet United was abandoned.

1 North – Brentford went top when hitting Richmond & Kew for six watched by a crowd of 146, Leatherhead’s Cassie Brown got a couple in the 3-1 win at Clapton FC where 217 fans had gathered. Denham United defeated Ashmount Leigh 6-2 away, Hackney also won on the road 4-1 at Richmond Park, while it was two apiece between Actonians Res and Bromley.

On Thursday 11 September, Richmond & Kew play Actonians Reserves at University of Westminster’s Qunitin Hogg Memorial Ground.

1 South – Herne Bay came from 2-1 down to beat Hastings United 3-2, sub Macey Hall levelling and Stephanie Adby getting the decider. There were 2-1 wins for Montpelier Villa against Bexhill United and Welling United over Saltdean United Devs, Soccer Elite Academy drew 1-1 with Bognor Regis Town and Aylesford put five past Three Bridges.

NORTH EAST – Four apiece for West End and South Shields

Premier – Ponteland United continued their winning start 3-0 at Wallsend BC, similarly Alnwick Town away to Harrogate Town with a 4-2 result. Chester le Street Town stormed to a 6-1 victory at York Railway Institute, Spennymoor Town beat Hull United 4-1 and it ended four each between Sunderland West End and South Shields.

1 North – Another 4-4 draw saw Hartlepool United and Bishop Auckland share the points, Chester le Street United just got the better of Wallsend BC Res thanks to a Lucy Bowman hat-trick in a 3-2 scoreline, Consett netted nine against Washington as Caitlin Bates and Hannah Smith got three each, Thornaby’s six against Chester le Street Amazons included a Daisy Swash treble. Norton & Stockton Ancients Res won 3-1 at i2i International Soccer Academy, Gateshead posted a similar result at Redcar Town.

1 South – Ossett United have won their first two games after a 4-1 result against Sheffield Wednesday, Oughtibridge WM won 5-1 at Kiveton Park even though they lost Molly Hutchinson to a 17th-minute dismissal. Leeds Modernians’ sub Sadyha Akhtar scored five times in a 10-2 victory at Sheffield United Foundation, York City Devs defeated Altofts 2-0.

NORTH WEST – Accrington, Bolton and Poulton faultless from five

Premier – Wythenshawe won by the odd goal in five at Salford City and lead the table on goal-difference – and with a game in hand – from Curzon Ashton who beat Crewe Alexandra 3-1. Darwen are still a point behind having won 5-1 at FC United of Manchester. Fleetwood Town Wrens’ Kristin Boos scored three in a 4-3 win at Mancunian Unity, Tranmere Rovers got all three goals of the match with Bury

1 North –  It is five wins from five for Bolton and Accrington, Wanderers beating Haslingden 2-1 and Stanley scoring five against Fleetwood Town Wrens Res. Radcliffe were the first to take points off Penrith, winning 4-2 as substitute Lucy Golding struck twice in front of a 109-strong crowd. Preston North End pipped Morecambe 3-2, Blackpool sank Hindley 7-0, while Workington Town v Atherton Laburnum Rovers was abandoned due to a medical issue.

1 South –  Poulton Vics made it five wins on the trot with seven goals against Litherland REMYCA, Runcorn Linnets’ 2-0 result at Macclesfield FC extended their winning start to four games. FC St. Helens came away from Wirral Phoenix 4-3 victors, Wigan Athletic won 7-1 at Ellesmere Port Town, Chester sent Mossley Hill Athletic to a 3-2 loss while it finished 2-2 between Warrington Town and MSB Woolton.

SOUTHERN – House hits six for seven-goal Stoneham

Premier – Ascot United hold the only remaining perfect record after winning 5-1 at AFC Portchester. Reading lost their opening game 3-0 at Sholing, Oxford City sub Anaya Grey scored in a 2-1 result over Winchester City Flyers, whose Libby Wilkinson was sent off. Wycombe Wanderers were 3-1 winners at Selsey, Woodley United beat Badshot Lea 4-2.

1 North – Abingdon United Devs edged Ascot United Res 1-0 with a Beth Hawtin goal, Shannon Read got all Wycombe Wanderers U-23s’ goals in a 4-1 victory over Kidlington. Penn & Tylers Green ran out 9-1 winners over Chesham United Devs, as Tara Woodward netted four and Henna Hussain came off the bench to get three. Tilehurst Panthers were held 3-3 by Beaconsfield Town, whose Nicole Brown was on target twice,

1 South –  AFC Stoneham’s Mia House scored six of their seven goals against AFC Varsity, Havant & Waterlooville sub Sophie Lee scored in added time for a 4-4 draw with Bursledon. Wimborne Town had Hannah Campbell sent off after half an hour at home to Bournemouth Sports Res, whose Emma Whall bagged a brace in a 2-1 win, although their Lauren Smallwood was shown the red card in stoppage time. Fleet Town’s Amy Granger netted three of their five goals at QK Southampton, Woking’s Bethany Anders opened the scoring but Abbey Rangers’ Poppy Trotter equalised in a 1-1 draw.

SOUTH WEST – Stockwood’s ten beat Bath 4-3

Premier – Marine Academy Plymouth have two wins from two following a 4-1 result against Ilminster Town, Forest Green Rovers have started just as well and won 2-1 at Poole Town where substitute Irene Aguado struck. AEK Boco converted a late penalty to draw 3-3 with Torquay United, Sherborne Town hit hosts AFC St Austell 6-0 and Pucklechurch Sports defeated Frampton Rangers 2-0.

1 North – St Vallier’s second win in two games was a 6-4 goalfest with Downend Flyers, in which their Emily Holbrook got a crucial couple of goals. Stockwood Wanderers came out on top 4-3 at Bath City with a Katie Whitmarsh hat-trick, although they lost Erin Vowles to a red card. Gloucester City won 6-1 at SGS Olveston United, Royal Wootton Bassett Town took the points 3-0 at Purton, Cirencester Town beat Paulton Rovers 4-1 but there were no goals between Bitton and Corsham Town.

1 South – Plympton’s Isabelle Firth scored five as they put nine past Bideford, Saltash United’s Nicola Champion was at the double in a 3-1 result at Weston super Mare. Helston Athletic won 2-1 at Feniton, Yeovil Town sub Emily Hall scored for a 2-2 draw with Sticker, Weymouth were 4-0 winners against Honiton Town.

WEST MIDLANDS – Selmes scores ten as Crusaders crush Lions

Premier – Lye Town’s 6-2 defeat of Knowle was their second successive win, so to Shifnal Town’s 2-0 result against Burton Albion. Coventry Sphinx’s Kirsty Farnsworth scored twice in a 3-3 tie with Coundon Court, whose Megan Holdcroft came off the bench to net. Kidderminster Harriers were 4-0 winners over Leek Town, Shrewsbury Town beat Alvechurch 2-1 with an Alice Raby brace.

1 North – Eccleshall lost Katie Andrews to a 15th-minute sending off but still beat Rugby Town 5-3. Connie Shaw-Peake and Katie Boot each bagged a brace for the hosts, Ellie Beesley’s treble for the visitors came in vain. Walsall Wood won 4-2 against Tamworth after trailing at the break, Ruby Meeson contributing two goals to the victory.

1 South – Danielle Selmes had a ten-goal haul as Crusaders kicked off with a massive 19-1 win at Leamington Lions. Hereford Pegasus had six different scorers as they came away fro Droitwich Spa 6-4 winners. Both Redditch sides won 6-2, Borough over Worcester City Res, United against Solihull Moors Foundation with four from Alice Rogers. Elsewhere, Halesowen Town beat Bromsgrove Sporting 4-1.
