An update on Lyon’s squad availability has emerged ahead of their clash with Rangers later in the week.
According to the injury list on SportsGambler, via Sports Lens, the quartet of Tino Kadewere, Leo Dubois, Lenny Pintor and Jeff Reine-Adelaide have all been ruled out for Lyon ahead of their trip to Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard’s side take on the Ligue 1 outfit in the Europa League on Thursday and all four of those players are due to miss out because of injury.

Gerrard will be buzzing with this update as it means that it’s not only his side who are struggling with availability. Rangers look set to be without Filip Helander, Ianis Hagi and Connor Goldson for various reasons, which is concerning ahead of the game, but the head coach’s worries could be eased knowing that their opponents also have issues of their own.
Young forward Pintor being out is not a major blow for Lyon, as he has only made one very brief Ligue 1 appearance in his career, but Reine-Adelaide, Dubois and Kadewere have all proven themselves in the French top flight. The latter two both ranked in the top six in the Lyon squad based on WhoScored ratings (10 appearances or more) last season, with Dubois in fourth and Kadewere in sixth.
Kadewere in particular caught the eye as he bagged 10 goals and provided three assists in 24 Ligue 1 starts for Lyon. This means that the French outfit will be without a key goalscoring option for the trip to Glasgow, potentially improving Rangers’ chance of picking up a positive result.

Reine-Adelaide, meanwhile, was on loan at Nice in the same division and averaged an impressive WhoScored rating of 6.90 in central midfield. He is now back at Lyon but will not be available for selection against Rangers on Thursday.
This illustrates that Peter Bosz’s side will be without three good options, with Dubois and Kadewere proving last season that they were among the club’s best performers. Therefore, Gerrard must be delighted that they will not be playing against his side on Thursday.
However, it is now up to Rangers to make the most of their opponents’ injury worries. Gerrard will surely be hoping for a positive start to the group to give them a platform on which to build heading into the rest of the matches throughout the autumn and winter.
