Transfer News: Dilan Markanday of Tottenham Hotspur attracts interest from Championship clubs for a loan deal

According to FootballLeagueWorld (h/t StokeonTrentLive), Tottenham Hotspur youngster Dilan Markanday has interest from several clubs in the Championship for a loan transfer. He has earned himself a name following his excellent performances in the youth division.

Markanday plays for the U-23s Tottenham team in the Premier League 2 division and has been a force at that level. He had made his first-team debut against Vitesse Arnhem in the UEFA Europa Conference League when Nuno Espirito Santo was the manager.

The British-Asian starlet has reached a new height this year, which has seen him nominated for several Player of the Month awards. Recently, he won the PL 2 Player of the Month award for October when he scored four goals in as many matches.

With ten goals and six assists to his name from 15 appearances, it is no wonder that he has attracted interest from other clubs. Stoke City, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers are the four Championship teams who want his services on a loan deal. Out of the quartet, the Cherries are impressing the most as they sit 2nd in the table, trailing league leaders Fulham by just 1 point.

They have been in ‘contact’ Spurs over a potential loan deal, and this could provide an opportunity for him to take the next step in his career. While he has impressed in the youth division, the senior level would be a different experience altogether.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is an exciting prospect, and he is still in the developmental phase. The club would need to make the right decision on his future by figuring out where to send him out on loan.

Antonio Conte could give him the jump to the first team if he wants to, especially in cup games, but it could be a little too early for that. After all, we all saw what happened when our second-string side took on NS Mura on Thursday night.

This is an important developmental phase for the club as well as they seek to cement a new identity under the former Inter Milan and Chelsea manager. And as for Markanday, if the club decides that a loan move would be the best option for his growth, then they must find him the right destination to ensure growth.

He must get regular minutes at a club where he can strut his stuff, ensuring a perfect stage for him to work towards his potential. He is a valuable prospect because of the early promise he has shown so far. We must also provide maximum effort from our side for him to be successful at our club and show him that we have him in our plans for the near future.
