Christopher Lenz reviews the first half of the season and describes his injury problems and what he’s doing to prevent them.

Christopher Lenz on…

…his first half of the season: “The first half of the season has been one of highs and lows, but I was very pleased in particular with the period before my injury. I think I was able to help the team both defensively and offensively. I hope I can soon pick up from there.”

...the long winter break this year: “I think it’s doing the team good to be training as intensively again now, even though it’s obviously an unusual situation. It’s also nice to have the weekends free for once, though.”

…his return from injury: “I feel very good, although training’s still quite tiring as I’ve only been fit again for five weeks. It was quite a reintroduction because after the injury I flew to Japan pretty much without any training and was then thrown straight into games. However, after the first two training sessions with the team I feel that the routine is gradually coming back.”

…his increased training workload: “I found myself in a vicious circle. I believe that once I’m properly fit, I can also stay fit in the long run. That’s why I’m currently in the gym an hour before training and putting extra shifts in. Yoga, wellness and a special diet are also helping to keep my body fit.” ...competition for places: “I think it’s an advantage that I’ve got a left foot that I can use to deliver dangerous balls into the box. With Mario, Daichi, Jesper and Kolo there we can pose a huge goal threat. If I can rediscover the form I had before my injury, I’ve got strong claims.”
