Inter forward Alexis Sanchez continued his fine form with a brace in today’s 5-1 win over Sampdoria, but it may not be enough to guarantee his future at the club.

The Chile international had been a peripheral figure earlier in the season and appeared set for a move to Roma in January as part of an exchange for Giallorossi striker Edin Dzeko, only for the deal to fall through.

As highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sanchez has put the collapsed move behind him and has no desire to leave Inter, having become settled in Milan and finding form at the club.

However, the Nerazzurri’s delicate financial situation has led to CEO Beppe Marotta considering which players may be available for a transfer in the summer, and Sanchez’s high wages may see him sacrificed.

The former Manchester United forward still has two years remaining on a €7 million per season contract and Inter would like to keep him in the squad, but see an opportunity to raise funds should they be able to bring in another striker.
