The future of Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been the talk of the town in Barcelona lately, as the club look to offload the German international this summer.
Ahead of Joan Garcia’s impending arrival, Ter Stegen has been identified as a liability to Barça, who want to continue with Garcia and Wojciech Szczesny in goal next season.
Ter Stegen naturally feels betrayed and remains determined to stay at Barcelona just to prove a point.
However, the German’s evolving situation has put European clubs on red alert, with Galatasaray emerging as one of the potential destinations.
In recent weeks, the Turkish giants have been linked with a move for Ter Stegen, who has been reportedly identified as an ideal replacement for the departing Fernando Muslera.
To that end, former Turkey assistant manager Kenan Kocak has revealed in a recent interview that there is a chance the Barcelona goalkeeper may, in fact, join Galatasaray this summer.
“Ter Stegen’s signing by Galatasaray is a real possibility, and he is totally open to negotiations. He could be the ideal replacement for Muslera. He’s a goalkeeper with a lot of experience,” he said (h/t AS).

Kocak is well aware of the dynamism in Turkish and German football, having coached the likes of Hannover, Sandhausen and Ankaragucu while also serving as an assistant to Stefan Kuntz in the Turkey national team.
Kocak added that anything is possible as long as Barcelona are willing to let Ter Stegen leave and reach an agreement with the German.
“I don’t know if Flick will let him go, but if Galatasaray gets serious, why not? If Barça allow it, it can happen. Everything depends on professionalism and the ability to negotiate.
“Where there is financial stability, any transfer is possible. Players first evaluate the economic conditions, and then everything else,” he added.
For now, though, Ter Stegen’s main focus will be on resolving his situation at Barcelona before thinking about joining a new club.
Having represented the national team over the past week or so, Ter Stegen is expected to return to Barcelona camp soon, where talks over his future will soon begin.
