Don Hutchinson speculates Harry Kane transfer to Manchester City this year

Former Liverpool midfielder and pundit at Premier League productions, Don Hutchison, says that he has “heard” that Manchester City have had an agreement to sign Harry Kane in the summer.

The former Scottish international wrote on his Twitter account that a move for the Spurs striker is “done to Manchester City in the summer”.

He made the comment about Kane while suggesting that teams around his former club are improving. A few weeks ago, a report by Bild (h/t Daily Mail) spoke of City’s interest in the 27-year-old.

And now, Hutchison’s comments would come as a major worry to Spurs fans. Kane came through Spurs’ youth academy and has been under the club’s contract for the entirety of his professional career.

The Spurs striker has scored 207 goals for the club in 314 matches, which is an incredible goal-scoring rate. And this season in the Premier League, he has also taken on the role of being the team’s most prolific creator. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Potentially a big loss for Spurs

Kane has 12 goals and 11 assists in his 18 league games this campaign. Losing a striker with numbers such as that is definitely something no manager would want.

Manchester City could have a need for a striker at the club, with Sergio Aguero turning 33 this year.

And while losing Kane to any team would be bad for the club, losing him to a Premier League rival such as City would be worse.

For now, Kane has a task on his hand of landing silverware at the club for the first time since 2008. Spurs take on Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup on Monday night before a daunting Premier League game against Liverpool on Thursday.
