Transfer News: Former Manchester United player makes Harry Kane transfer claim

Speaking on Sky Sports (h/t Metro) on Sunday, former Manchester United player Roy Keane claimed that Harry Kane ‘fancies’ a transfer move from Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford.

Kane’s future has been up in the air for a while now and rumours of him leaving Spurs have accelerated in the past week. It is said that he would be leaving Tottenham if they fail to make the top 4 this season. (h/t Metro)

The 27-year-old striker was kept at bay by Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof on Sunday as United came back to win 3-1 against Spurs. This left a big dent for the Lilywhites as they drifted 6 points away from 4th spot.

Amid this, the two Manchester clubs are linked with the Englishman. United are keen on completing a transfer despite knowing that it will not be an easy task to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams.

Kane to Manchester United?

But Keane thinks that the prospect of playing with stars such as Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes would make Kane prefer a move to United.

“With the service he’d be getting, Kane must fancy United. ‘I think Kane fancies United, I just have that feeling that he fancies United. Just a gut feeling.”

Kane is yet to win a trophy at Spurs in his entire senior career. Tottenham last won any sort of silverware all the way back in 2008.

They do have a Carabao Cup final this month against Manchester City. But apart from that, they did not look anywhere near convincing enough this season to challenge for the UEFA Europa League or the Premier League.

Keane thinks that signing Kane means trophies will start coming to United as well (h/t Metro). And it’s difficult to disagree with him there. The club seem to have all the pieces in place and a goal-scorer like Kane can only take us to the next level.
