Former Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove has expressed a lot of gratitude towards ex-manager Jose Mourinho, revealing that he did a lot for him during his time in Rome.
Bove had left the Giallorossi in the summer and joined Fiorentina, despite interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and Nottingham Forest. He has already integrated himself into La Viola’s first team and is expected to be an important player in the campaign this season.
He recently spoke to Corriere dello Sport about his time at the Roman giants and he also spoke about Mourinho and his influence. Mourinho had handed him his debut at the club and he would use him regularly in midfield, turning him into a reliable player in the heart of the park.
He said: “Mourinho was the coach who launched me and valorised me, it is difficult to even describe in words how important he was for me. He gave me the chance to enter the football of the big boys, he believed in me and in my qualities. I can only thank him”
It was under Mourinho that Bove played his best football in the club’s first-team and he wasn’t used too much by Daniele de Rossi. Fiorentina boss Raffaele Palladino seems to be seeing him as an important and it is easy to see why Bove has big praise for the Portuguese.
