Former Roma manager Claudio Ranieri weighed in on Daniele De Rossi’s dismissal from the capital club.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ranieri went over the situation at Trigoria, discussing the implications of the club’s decision to let go of De Rossi.
“If you sign a coach to a long-term contract and then after a few bad games the project goes to waste, well, there is a problem,” Ranieri remarked.
“De Rossi’s dismissal seemed to me to be a clear case of lack of planning, especially because Daniele was able to coach several players only after the transfer window came to an end.”
“It’s a very odd situation – I think it’s too easy to put all the blame on De Rossi and Souloukou.”
“What would I say to De Rossi? That such misadventures forge character. But in this case, I think Daniele didn’t even have time to make mistakes.”
