Former Real Madrid captain Marcelo is considering hanging up his boots.

After leaving the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu with three titles in the 2021-22 season, the Brazilian has not been convinced by offers from Qatar or MLS, among others.

That means that the possibility of retirement is a strong one in the immediate future of the player with the most titles (25) in the history of Real Madrid.

Marcelo has long been preparing for life after football, laying the foundations for a career as a businessman.

Now, as his professional football career coming to an end, he can switch his focus to his interests off the field.

Marcelo currently owns two clubs, Azuriz, from the Brazilian Campeonato Paranaense, and Mafra, from the Portuguese second division.

An eventual return to Real Madrid as an ambassador or institutional representative is also in Marcelo's future plans, and there is no shortage of professional incentives for him if, as it seems, he ends up hanging up his boots this summer.
