Former PSG midfielder Idrissa Gueye will be staying with Everton as the Toffees intend to keep the veteran around for more time on his second stint with the club after leaving the French capital in 2022.
Gueye spent four years with the Parisians, making 111 total appearances while scoring seven goals and recording six assists. He also won two Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies, one Coupe de la Ligue, and two Trophée des Champions.
Moreover, Gueye was also part of the PSG team that reached the UEFA Champions League final in 2020 as they fell to Bayern Munich.

On Thursday, Foot Mercato reported that Everton management has offered the Senegalese midfielder a contract extension and that the two parties are close to an agreement.
The report mentions that Paris FC eyed the player, but it appears that he will remain with Everton. Furthermore, he might not have wanted to play for the newly promoted Ligue 1 team out of respect for PSG, considering the player hasn’t forgotten his team in the French capital.
After PSG eliminated Liverpool from the Champions League Round of 16, the midfielder added “merci” to the video, thanking his former teammate for adding misery to the Toffees’ rival.
