Before his move to Manchester United, Manuel Ugarte hadn’t made any appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, even though they had already kicked off their 2024-25 Ligue 1 campaign.

Ugarte would eventually move to the Red Devils on the final day of the summer transfer window. Nonetheless, the Premier League side now have a player who last played for Uruguay at the 2024 Copa América before this FIFA international break.

As a result, the former PSG midfielder needs to find his form to catch up to his new teammates. Still, manager Erik ten Hag stated that Ugarte is available for Saturday’s match against Southampton.

“Manuel Ugarte, we all have seen he played for Uruguay, he returned this afternoon, he was the only player who returned today, all the others returned yesterday so he is available for this game,” ten Hag told reporters (h/t The Mirror).

Several reports suggest that PSG are set to receive a fixed fee of €50 million for Ugarte’s transfer to Manchester United, an additional €10 million in potential add-ons and a 10 percent sell-on clause.

The 23-year-old penned a contract until 2029, so supporters will soon see what the player brings to the table following the international break when he makes his Manchester United debut.
