Former Premier League striker set to arrive in Sevilla to complete move | OneFootball

Sevilla are set to continue their summer overhaul with their priority now on strengthening the frontline.

As reported by Marca, Kelechi Iheanacho could arrive in the next few hours to complete his move. Negotiations between the club and striker have been underway for days and are now nearing a positive conclusion.

The Nigerian is currently a free agent, after finishing his contract at Leicester City. The 27-year-old has represented Leicester and Manchester City in the Premier League, scoring 42 goals and notching 25 assists in 196 appearances.

Iheanacho does have a more lucrative proposal on the table from Stuttgart, however there is growing optimism that he favours the move to La Liga. Sevilla sporting director Victor Orta believes that his attempts to convince the attacker to lean towards a journey in Nervión have been successful.

Once the talks are concluded, the player can arrive in the Andalusian capital in the next days or even hours. The club believe that this is a shrewd bit of business, with Iheanacho adding to the option of Isaac Romero, who is the only notable forward left in the squad.
