Former Norwich striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel made it 10 goals for the season with a brace away to Excelsior to help FC Twente to a 3-0 win. The 35-year-old followed up Daan Rot’s second minute goal with one in the fifth minute and another after 13 to ensure that Twente could enjoy a comfortable afternoon in Rotterdam.

The side almost had a chance to add a fourth, but VAR intervened to deny the side a penalty in the second-half. After the win, FC Twente keep pressure on second place Feyenoord, who are two points ahead of them in second. They play against Sparta Rotterdam in their next game.

For Excelsior, they miss another chance to try and drag themselves away from the relegation zone. The Rotterdam side are sitting just three points ahead of RKC Waalwijk in the relegation play off spot. They face Sparta in the Rotterdam derby next weekend.
