JJ Watt and Kealia Watt have bought a minority stake in Burnley, reports The Times.
The former NFL star and his footballer wife have joined the other Americans with investments in English clubs.
84% of Burnley is owned by the American firm ALK Capital through several subsidiaries.
The other 16% belongs to individual shareholders like the Watts.
However, their exact percentage and how much they paid remain unknown.
The Clarets are back in the Premier League after getting relegated on the last day of last season.
Manager Vincent Kompany will be keen to hit the ground running in the top flight after Burnley proved to be head and shoulders above teams in the Championship.
The Turf Moor club have picked up 98 points from 45 league games and are deservedly back with the big boys.
However, they will need to make some key squad changes to challenge effectively in the Premier League.
The owners will be expected to make the necessary cash injection available during the summer transfer window.
Burnley will hope the Watts would help move their club to the next level following the development.
Title contenders Arsenal are owned by American businessman Stan Kroenke, and they are slowly becoming a force to reckon with.
Bournemouth, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are also owned by Americans.
Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leeds United and Manchester City have major investments from Americans.
Eight clubs (Millwall and Swansea City in the Championship; Ipswich Town, Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth in League One; and Crawley Town and Gillingham in League Two) are also owned by Americans.
