Former Manchester United and Bordeaux striker David Bellion has announced his departure from Red Star FC, stepping down as the club’s long-time Creative Director after a decade of working with the Ligue 2 club.Bellion helped forge Red Star’s artistic and cultural identity through his agency Supervision Office. “I had 10 years of absolute freedom, doing stupid, spontaneous, weird, beautiful things,” he wrote on Instagram, paying tribute to club president Patrice Haddad.Under Bellion, Red Star collaborated with brands such as Vice, High Snobiety, New Era, and more – most recently exploring generative AI and shirt designs in partnership with Kappa and creative agencies. However, these moves drew increasing criticism from the club’s supporters, who felt the club’s historic identity was being sacrificed for aesthetics. The former Sunderland and Manchester United striker finished his career at Red Star FC in the 2014-2015 season, then continuing his time at the club as a creative contributor, earning a promotion to become the club’s creative director in 2018.GFFN | George Boxall
