Peter Bosz is the leading candidate to become the new PSV Eindhoven manager, according to Eindhovens Dagblad. The 59-year-old would succeed Ruud van Nistelrooy at the Philips Stadion.

Bosz has been without a club since his departure from Olympique Lyon in October of last year. Just 10 games into the season, Bosz was sacked with the Ligue 1 side ninth in the table. He was replaced by Laurent Blanc. Peter Bosz has also previously managed Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax and Vitesse, among other clubs.

At PSV, Bosz would face the challenge of guiding PSV to their first Eredivisie title since the 17/18 campaign. The club finished the 22/23 season in second place, and they definitely have the quality to push on for the title next season. Having previously overseen nearly 300 Eredivisie matches as a manager, Bosz is yet to win the league. He’ll certainly be targeting the title if he’s handed the opportunity to manage PSV.

Last month Ruud van Nistelrooy stepped down as PSV’s head coach less than a week before the final game of the season. Having just won the KNVB Cup, Ruud resigned after rumours started to circulate that several players had made complaints about his style of coaching. The search for his successor is currently underway and Peter Bosz looks to be the most likely candidate.
