Former London City Lionesses defender Carly Girasoli has completed a move to Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 club Hearts.

The Jambos announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this morning.

Girasoli has spent the last two seasons in England with London City Lionesses. The player made 31 appearances for The Pride in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she scored two goals. Girasoli was one of eight players to leave London City Lionesses last week with her contract at Princes Park coming to an end.

The defender has now joined Hearts on a free transfer, a move which sees Girasoli return to the Scottish Women’s Premier League 1.

After securing the services of the Scot, Hearts boss Eva Olid said “I am very happy to get this signing completed. Not only is Carly a fantastic player, who at such a young age, has such vast experience not only in Scotland, but in England and the Champions League as well. We know she has an even better personality, and she will fit in with the rest of the group really well.

“Carly is very determined to succeed and play at the highest level. I am very much looking forward to working with her.”

Hearts have now signed two players from south of the border this summer. Former Crystal Palace defender Lizzie Waldie also joined The Jambos last week.
