Former Liverpool striker Roger Hunt has died aged 83, the club have announced on Tuesday.

The legendary forward was the second-highest goalscorer in the history of the club, scoring 285 goals in 492 appearances.

Arriving at Anfield as a 20-year-old, he won two league titles and the 1965 FA Cup during his 11 year stint.

Hunt was also part of the England squad that won the World Cup in 1966, scoring three times during the tournament.

He went on to earn 34 caps for his country, finding the net on 18 occasions.
