Former Lille & Bordeaux boss Jocelyn Gourvennec interviewed for France women’s team job | OneFootball

According to L’Équipe, Jocelyn Gourvennec, who has been without a club since leaving Lille in June 2022, has reportedly been interviewed by the French Football Federation (FFF) for the position of head coach of the French women’s national team. L’Équipe report that he appeared before the commission on Wednesday morning, and presented a ‘very detailed‘ project.

Gourvennec  won the Trophée des Champions with Lille in 2021 and the Coupe de France with Guingamp in 2014. He has also managed Bordeaux from 2016 to 2018.

Represented by agent Jean-Pierre Bernès, Gourvennec joins a list of other coaches who have been linked to the France women’s national team coaching job. This includes Paris Saint-Germain women’s coach Gérard Prêcheur and Éric Blahic. Blahic was previously an assistant to Corinne Diacre.

The French Football Federation is currently searching for a new coach to replace Corinne Diacre, who was dismissed by the FA following a public fallout with several key players such as Wendie Renard who withdrew themselves from the team just four months before the 2023 World Cup which is set to take place in New Zealand and Australia.
