Ryan Alebiosu returned to action this weekend in Kortrijk’s 1-0 away defeat to Sint-Truiden. In an interview with Elian Coussement, the former Kilmarnock and Arsenal defender was revealing how happy he was to be back and his respect for new head coach Freyr Alexandersson.

Of the new head coach, Alebiosu said ‘Freyr Alexandersson is a good coach. Not only in the dressing room, but also outside of it’. Having been out injured for some time, the young English defender said that the new head coach was in contact with him while he was out, helping him return to the squad. Alebiosu also revealed that the dressing room is speaking plenty of English, as well as French, that helps he and other players integrate into the squad.

Despite the defeat at the weekend, Kortrijk under Alexandersson have given themselves a chance of staying up that did not seem possible a few weeks ago. With just one defeat since taking over, they have closed the gap to safety to just six points.
