Former Inter striker Diego Milito provided his thoughts ahead of Inter’s Champions League final against Manchester City in Istanbul while speaking to the media.

The Argentine was part of Mourinho’s treble winning squad back in 2010 after only joining from Genoa at the beginning at that exact season,  playing a vital role against Bayern Munich in Madrid as Il Principe scored a brace within a 2-0 victory over the European giants to make the Nerazzurri the first ever Italian side to have ever obtained the almighty treble.

While speaking to Match Day Program, as relayed by FcInterNews, the former Inter player provided his perspective of Inter’s journey to finals, as well as reminiscing his memories when his Inter side seized European glory:

“In Inter’s Champions League journey there have been several important matches. The match against Barcelona was a fundamental match. There are no easy matches in this competition, the semi-final against Milan being such an important derby was a decisive match.

“After the one played in 2010 against Bayern Munich on the incredible night in Madrid: The path to the Champions League that season was incredible but also very hard and difficult. We played against great teams, there were moments in which we suffered, I remember the match in Kiev. There were moments that gave us the knowledge that we could do it, the match against Chelsea was very tough to play, Barcelona who were the team to beat and the final against Bayern. It was a match that we faced very focused, we knew it was our possibility, our dream”.
