FC Twente have completed the signing of Carel Eiting from Volendam. The 25-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year contract in Enschede on transfer deadline day. Volendam were left with no choice other than to sell Eiting. The former Netherlands youth international midfielder approached the arbitration committee of the KNVB twice to enforce the transfer to Twente. Eiting has received his desired move.
The midfielder kicked off his career in the Ajax youth academy, before making 31 appearances for the first team. In the summer of 2021, Eiting joined Huddersfield Town on loan. He featured 23 times in the Championship as the Terriers finished in 20th place and narrowly avoided relegation in the 20/21 campaign. A transfer to Genk followed, and Eiting played 19 times for the Belgian club.
In the summer of 2020, Carel Eiting returned to Huddersfield on a free transfer, playing seven games before his return to the Netherlands. He featured 35 times for Volendam in the Eredivisie last season. Now, he’ll be playing for FC Twente, who finished fifth in the league last season.
