Hertha BSC midfielder Jean-Paul Boëtius is expected to leave the club this summer following their relegation from the Bundesliga, according to Kicker and BILD. The 29-year-old Dutchman joined Hertha in August last year, but after dropping down to the 2. Bundesliga, Boëtius is said to be keen on departing. The former Feyenoord and Genk midfielder has a clause in his contract whereby his time at the club can be terminated following relegation.

Boëtius made 21 appearances for Hertha last season as the club finished rock bottom of the German top flight. The midfielder didn’t score a goal or provide an assist in any of his appearances last campaign. The one-time Netherlands international previously played for Mainz, Genk and Basel.

Jean-Paul Boëtius also experienced two separate spells at Feyenoord where he won the KNVB Cup and two Dutch Super Cups. He has also won two Swiss titles and a Swiss cup with Basel. If he decides to leave Hertha this summer, he’ll certainly be on the radar of some Eredivisie sides.
