Former FC Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez makes Al Nassr move | OneFootball

The spate of new additions to the Roshn Saudi League for the 2025-25 season has continued with former FC Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez joining Al Nassr on a free transfer.

The Spanish centre-back’s move was confirmed late on Saturday night, with Al Nassr announcing he signed a one-year contract with the Riyadh club.

Martinez, 34, had spent the past two seasons at Barcelona, helping the club win last season’s La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. Prior to that, he represented Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao.

Martinez has also made 21 appearances for the Spanish national team and was part of the squad that reached the final of the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League.

At Al Nassr, he is only one of a number of fresh recruits as the club attempt to improve upon last season’s third-placed finish when the new campaign gets under way later this month.

Al Nassr have already appointed former Al Hilal manager Jorge Jesus, while they bolstered the squad with the star signing of Portugal international Joao Felix among a crop of talented Saudi Arabians.
