The Blues lost 2-1 against Aston Villa on Saturday evening after being 1-0 up inside the first 20 minutes. I think Chelsea fans would have just expected even at that point, that their side were still going to lose this game, and they did.

Chelsea could not score and were really terrible. Even Cole Palmer was terrible, and he was seen trying to blame others for a bad pass that HE himself made. This just about sums everything up right now.

Gallas unsure on Fofana

William Gallas as a pundit.

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas is unsure on Wesley Fofana and says he is not stepping up yet to replace Thiago Silva, with injuries obviously being the big issue.

“Chelsea didn’t sign a defender with the same qualities [as Silva] despite spending £70 million on Wesley Fofana, which has just been a disaster,” Gallas said in words quoted by DAZN.

“When Chelsea signed Fofana three years ago, I was very worried because he had already suffered a long-term injury at Leicester.

“Even though his injuries have been different, sometimes a bad injury can have a lot of damage on the body and since he joined Chelsea even when he was fit he hasn’t been able to find his best performances.

“Chelsea have potentially made a mistake. He has the potential to go very far but it’s so hard to come back from serious injuries and reach the same level. You have to be so sure when you spend that sort of money and they can’t have been.”
