Anderlecht’s newly appointed head coach Brian Riemer has been outlining his plans for the side ahead of the second half of the season. Speaking to the clubs media, Riemer spoke of wanting to see an aggressive side, who deploy a gegenpressing style to regain the ball quickly. The new head coach also spoke of showcasing the talent the squad has, with a focus on youth development of the like he oversaw during his time at Brentford.
The former Brentford coach spoke about his knowledge of the club from a historical perspective, as well as the famed academy that has produced many talented players. Riemer takes over as Anderlecht sit in a disappointing 11th place.
Riemer’s style will differ from previous head coaches Felice Mazzu and Vincent Kompany. Kompany, who is now in charge of Burnley, preferred a possession based style that looked to control the game.
