Lamine Yamal once again stole the show as FC Barcelona thrashed Real Betis 5-1 in Montjuic to progress to the Copa del Rey quarterfinals.
The 17-year-old put on a show for the Barça fans in their first home game of 2025, dazzling with his spectacular attacking play all through the game.
Lamine finished the match with a goal and two assists but his impact and influence extended much beyond those numbers.
Naturally, the teenage sensation has been lapping up praise from all quarters with his teammate Gavi and manager Hansi Flick conceding that he is one of the best in the world currently.
Now, a former Barcelona forward, Gerard Deulofeu, has also expressed his awe and amazement at the talent and quality of Lamine Yamal.
Taking to social media after last night’s recital at the Montjuic Stadium, the ex-La Masia starlet went on to call the 17-year-old Golden Boy a mixture of two Barça legends, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
“Is he the fusion of Neymar and Messi together? BFF…,” wrote Deulofeu, along with a picture of Yamal.
Having enjoyed an extremely successful 2024, during which he led Spain to the UEFA Euro 2024 triumph and won the Golden Boy award, the Barcelona sensation has started the new year on fire.
Overall this season, Lamine has racked up nine goals and 13 assists already from 24 matches in all competitions and there simply appears to be no stopping the Barcelona academy jewel.
