Former Barcelona star hails winger as ‘already one of the best in the world’ | OneFootball

When Barcelona were staring at a 2-0 deficit at home against Inter Milan in the semifinal of the UEFA Champions League, it was the youngest player on the field who stepped up and took responsibility.

Lamine Yamal, widely seen as one of the best wingers in world football, picked up the ball and scored a stunning solo goal to bring Barcelona right back into the game and was the best attacking player on the field by far.

The game, however, was only a glimpse of the prowess he has shown this season for he has almost been the epitome of consistency for the Catalans.

Barcelona legend speaks on Yamal

Speaking to the media earlier this week, former Barcelona player Javi Moreno was asked to give his two cents on Lamine Yamal and the youngster’s astronomic rise to prominence.

“Lamine? He is already one of the best in the world but he is very young and has to take care of himself,” he said, revealing how he was impressed by the youngster’s game management via Radio MARCA.

“What impresses me the most is the carefreeness he has at the age of 17 and at Barça,” he added on Yamal’s maturity at a young age.

As once again stated by Moreno, Yamal is indeed already in conversations as one of the best players in the world which is ridiculous given his age.

Having just won the Golden Boy award last season, the youngster is now in strong contention for the Ballon d’Or. Should Barcelona go on to win the treble, him lifting the accolade cannot be ruled out.

Yamal was one of the team’s best players in the recent first leg against Inter Milan and will have to step on the field in a very similar fashion next week at San Siro.

The two games against Inter and Real Madrid, after all, could well decide Barcelona’s season.
