A former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has admitted that, at some point in his career, he would have liked nothing more than to line out for Real Madrid.

The player in question? Arturo Vidal.

Chilean international Vidal, of course, was on the books of Barcelona for two years, between 2018 and 2020.

Though many would no doubt argue that the all-action midfielder was past his best by this point, he nevertheless went on to play a prominent role for the Blaugrana, on his way to a La Liga title, and Spanish Super Cup crown.

Speaking during an interview with TNT Sports Chile this week, Vidal, who also lined out for the likes of Juventus, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, was therefore drawn on his time on the continent.

Specifically, asked if there was another club he would have liked to play for, the now-36-year-old turned heads, in pointing towards none other than Barca’s arch rivals, Real Madrid.
