VI are reporting that NEC Nijmigen goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen could be set for a return to Spanish football. The 35-year-old, who has played for both Barcelona and Valencia in La Liga before, his of interest to UD Las Palmas. The side finished in 16th place last season, seven points above the relegation zone. The veteran Dutch goalkeeper made 30 appearances in the Eredivisie this season, keeping six clean sheets. Cillessen has a contract with NEC that runs until 2025.

The former Dutch international returned to his former club last season, having begun his career. Cillessen was born in Nijmigen but moved to Ajax during the 2011/2012 season. He made 143 appearances for the Amsterdam side and kept an impressive 63 clean sheets. His performances earned him a move to Barcelona for the 2016/2017 season. The goalkeeper spent a handful of seasons with the Catalan club, making just over 30 appearances and keeping 14 clean sheets.

For the 2019/2020 season the goalkeeper moved to Valencia and played over 50 times for the club before returning to the Netherlands.
