After seeing out his second stint with the Nerazzurri, the veteran signed for Udinese as a free agent earlier this month.

Sanchez Out of Udinese vs Lazio

Sanchez skipped the opening fixture of the Serie A campaign which saw his side earn a hard-fought point against Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara. But while he was targeting a return against Lazio, he suffered a setback in training. The striker has sustained a leg injury as revealed by an official note posted on Udinese’s website.

Udinese Calcio announces that Alexis Sanchez has suffered a myofascial contusive distraction lesion of themedial gemelli of the left leg during training. Further investigations will follow to evaluate the extent of the lesion and recovery times.

So while the club’s statement doesn’t reveal a timetable for the recovery, the legendary striker will certainly skip Saturday’s encounter against the Biancocelesti. Udinese will instead rely on the likes of Brenner, Lorenzo Lucca and club captain Florian Thauvin upfront

For their part, Lazio will be without the injured Mario Gila and Gaetano Castrovelli, while Nuno Tavares’ condition will be evaluated over the next few days, explains LazioNews24.
