Former Arsenal forward Tobin Heath has agreed to join American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club OL Reign on a deal which will initially run for the remainder of the 2022 season.

The experienced United States international spent this season with The Gunners but she left the club ahead of the expiry of her contract after sustaining a season-ending injury. Heath made 18 appearances in all competitions in an Arsenal shirt while she scored three goals.

NWSL club OL Reign have this evening announced that they have acquired Heath’s rights from Racing Louisville FC and the player has signed for them until the end of the 2022 season. OL Reign will also have the option to extend the arrangement by a further year. Heath will join the club on Monday.

After her move to OL Reign was confirmed, Heath said “Couldn’t be more thrilled to play alongside the world class players here, for Laura Harvey as my coach, and in front of the amazing community of supporters. We’re all eager to win a title, and I’m hopeful I can help OL Reign achieve that goal.”

Heath has spent the last two seasons playing outside of the NWSL. She had a spell with Manchester United before joining Arsenal at the start of this season.
