Everton midfielder André Gomes has scored his first Premier League goal for Everton since May 2022.
The Portuguese was once a crucial player in formerly Marco Silva’s Everton team but a horror injury hampered his time at Goodison.
Signing initially on loan from Barcelona in 2018 before a permanent £22 million move, Gomes scored his first goal for the Toffees in a 1-3 loss at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers and had rapidly become a real fan favourite.
However a severe ankle injury in home game against Tottenham the following season proved damaging in his Everton career.
The midfielder was loaned out to Lille last season and had returned to the team this year a bit of a forgotten man.
However, the 30-year-old truly announced his return to the Premier League scoring somewhat ironically in a 2-1 away loss to Tottenham.
It is his first goal for the club in 587 days. Fans will surely be hoping the next one won’t take as long!
