A somewhat forgotten member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona could be afforded his very first start of the campaign this weekend.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Ansu Fati as the player in question.
Wide-man Ansu is for his part of course fresh off a difficult start to the term, which saw the 21-year-old’s progress under the watch of Hansi Flick halted by another setback on the fitness front.
In the weeks leading into the October international break, however, Ansu reappeared, managing a trio of substitute appearances, showcasing flashes of his old self in the most recent against Deportivo Alavés.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the Spaniard’s perseverance could well be rewarded by boss Flick and his coaching staff this weekend.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘We could see Ansu Fati’s first start this Sunday against Sevilla.’
With Ferran Torres sidelined, Lamine Yamal not fully fit, and Raphinha set for a late return from international duty with Brazil, space is set to open up in Barcelona’s frontline to face Sevilla.
The leading candidates to step in come in the form of Ansu and Pau Víctor, albeit with the former, as things stand, considered as boasting the edge.
