Tottenham Hotspur should be looking closer to come when it comes to a possible Antonio Nusa alternative.

Nusa’s proposed move to Spurs is all but off after Brentford agreed a deal to sign the 18-year-old winger over the weekend.

The Norwegian starlet’s move to west London is hanging in the balance after issues with his medical.

Tottenham were planning to sign the talented youngster this month before sending him back on loan to Club Brugge for the remainder of the season.

Many Spurs fans will be wondering who the club will target next as they bid to secure a talented winger.

But Spurs already have a 16-year-old left-sided forward in Mikey Moore who’s making quite the impression in the academy set-up at the moment.

Tottenham should hand Moore first-team chance after Nusa blow

Moore is a youngster who has already caused plenty of excitement within Tottenham.

The talented winger has starred for the Under-18s this season, managing 15 goal contributions in just 10 games.

He penned a fresh deal with Spurs last year, which will keep him at the club until at least 2026. Moore was attracting interest from ‘many top European clubs’ before agreeing fresh terms with Tottenham.

In October last year, the teenager was also named in The Guardian’s ‘Next Generation 2023’.

The list compiled the best prospect at each Premier League side and Moore was named as Tottenham’s brightest talent.

While missing out on Nusa is a blow for Tottenham, it would be refreshing to see the club focus on developing a talent like Moore instead.

His record for England’s youth sides also suggests Spurs have a real star on their hands.

Moore has managed six goals in eight games for the Under-17s at international level. He also netted five in seven for the Under-16s before making the step up.

Of course, it seems unlikely that Moore will get a chance in the first team this term as he’s very much in the early stages of his career.

But it would be a shame to see Spurs go out and sign another talented left-winger, like Nusa, who could ultimately block Moore’s path to the first team.

It’s been a fair while since Spurs had a real gem come through the ranks at Hotspur Way but with the right opportunities, Moore could be the next star to emerge from the academy set up in north London.
